Thank you everyone who has come by and visited my mom and brought her goodies. We all really appreciate it. I think the latest is that she's going to have a blood transfusion soon. We have a meeting today about how to provide further care (hospise, paliative, nursing home, at home, etc). ~ Kimberly

Update on my mom....

She "woke up" this afternoon about 3 and was able to speak in complete sentences that actually made sense.  Yay!  She is still too exhausted to say much though.  One of the first things she said was that she couldn't hear me, so that was good!    She asked about Ben and Charity's wedding and she wanted to make sure everything was okay with that.  She was also happy to see the grandbabies and have all four of her kids there.  She is on heavy sedation though because she still feels quite a bit of agitation.  The anxiety and agitation is all from the fever/infection, though and her spirits are still relatively up.  She just doesn't know what is wrong.  She still can't think or concentrate too well but she is showing some improvement. 

She had 2 liters of fluid drained from her right lung this evening.  That lung is also partially collapsed.  Tonight they are doing another procedure involving her lung.  I forgot what it was.... basically it's removing the air out from between her lung and the chest wall. 

So prayers would be that she would regain more mental cognizance and enough strength to fight this infection.  Thanks for everyone that has supported her and my family during this time!
